Automated gates

Motorized sliding and swing gates for homes, estates and corporate premises, controlled by remote, keypad or integrated access card systems. Automated gates improve both convenience and security by controlling exactly who can enter your property and when.

What this is

Motorized sliding and swing gates for homes, estates and corporate premises, controlled by remote, keypad or integrated access card systems. Automated gates improve both convenience and security by controlling exactly who can enter your property and when.

The motor has to match the gate, not the other way round. A heavy steel gate on an incline needs a stronger, more torque capable motor than a light aluminium gate on flat ground, and fitting an undersized motor to save cost is what causes the slow, straining gates and early motor failures we get called out to fix on other people's installs. We weigh and measure the gate before quoting a motor for exactly that reason.

Sliding gates suit properties with limited swing clearance and a straight run beside the driveway; swing gates suit a shorter driveway with room either side. Both can be controlled by remote, a keypad at the gate, or tied into an intercom or card system so the gate opens as part of the same credential that opens a door.

What is included

  • Sliding and swing gate automation
  • Remote control and keypad access options
  • Integration with intercom and access control systems
  • Backup power support so gates still work during outages

How it works

From first call to handover

  1. Site survey to assess the gate, its weight and the power supply nearby

  2. Motor and control selection sized to the gate rather than a generic unit

  3. Installation with remote, keypad or card access as you choose

  4. Backup power fitted so the gate still opens during an outage

  5. Handover with remotes programmed and tested

How this is billed

Priced against the gate itself, since a heavy steel gate needs a stronger motor than a light one. The site survey weighs and measures the gate before we quote, so the figure reflects your gate and not an average one.

After installation

Support and servicing

Motors carry the manufacturer warranty, and we service what we install, including gates we did not originally fit where the motor and gearing are compatible. Call the support line for a gate that has slowed down, stopped responding to remotes, or is not opening fully.

Questions

What people ask before booking

Will the gate still work during a power cut?
With backup power fitted, which we recommend and install as standard, yes. Without it the gate can usually still be released and pushed open by hand using a manual release the motor is fitted with, which we show you at handover.
Can you automate a gate I already have?
In most cases yes. We inspect the existing gate to confirm it is structurally sound enough to carry a motor and moves freely on its track or hinges, then fit the motor and controls to it rather than replacing the gate itself.
How many remotes can be programmed to one gate?
Most controllers support a large number of remotes, well beyond what a household or small office needs, so adding a remote for a new family member or staff member later is a quick call, not a reinstall.
