What we collect when you use this site, why, and how to reach us about it.

Last updated 1 October 2026.

Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Wave Fiber Technologies collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit this website, submit an enquiry, apply for a job, or become a client. It is written to be consistent with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and the regulations issued under it.

What we collect and why

Contact enquiries: when you submit the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the subject and the content of your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry, arrange a site survey and provide a quotation.

Newsletter sign-up: if you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address. We use it only to send you updates about our services and news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Job applications: when you apply for a role we collect your name, email address, phone number, cover letter and CV. We use this only to assess your application and contact you about it. CVs and cover letters are personal data and are accessible only to authorised staff involved in hiring.

Coverage checker: if you use the coverage checker we process the address or location you enter to look up whether our network reaches it. We do not store this beyond the immediate response.

Appointment booking: if you book a site survey or consultation through the Calendly widget, Calendly collects your name, email address and the time you choose. That data is governed by Calendly's own privacy policy as well as this one.

AI assistant: if you use the Leo chat assistant on this site, the questions you type are sent to Groq to generate a response. Do not include personal or sensitive information in your questions. We do not store conversation history beyond the current session.

WhatsApp and direct contact: if you contact us via the WhatsApp button, by phone or by email, we hold the content of that conversation on the same basis as any other enquiry.

Once you become a client, the site survey and installation process collects the site address, contact details and technical information needed to design, quote and deliver the work. That is held separately from this website in our operational systems.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it and to improve the experience. Analytics cookies are only set after you give consent through the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed and no measurement data is sent to Google.

We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies. The only cookies this site sets are those strictly necessary for it to function (such as your session when you are logged in to the administration panel) and, with your consent, the Google Analytics measurement cookies.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and local storage for this site, which will show the consent banner again on your next visit. Our full cookie policy is at /cookie-policy.

Who we share it with

We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Data passes through the following service providers who process it on our behalf, strictly to operate the site and respond to you:

Google Analytics (analytics, with consent only). Groq (AI assistant responses). Calendly (appointment booking). Cloudinary (media storage). Our email and hosting providers.

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up.

Job applications are kept for the duration of the hiring process and for up to six months afterwards in case a suitable role arises. Applications that are not progressed are deleted after that period.

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Client and project records are kept for as long as the business relationship continues and for the period required by Kenyan tax and business record-keeping law afterwards.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, and ask us to stop processing it in certain circumstances. To exercise any of these rights, write to us using the contact details below.
