Web design and development

We design and build websites for Kenyan businesses, from a straightforward site that establishes credibility and answers what a customer needs to know, through to online stores and custom web applications built around how a business actually works.

What this is

We design and build websites for Kenyan businesses, from a straightforward site that establishes credibility and answers what a customer needs to know, through to online stores and custom web applications built around how a business actually works.

Most of what makes a site work is decided before anything is designed. What is the visitor trying to do, how quickly can they do it, and what does the business need them to do next. A site that looks impressive but buries its phone number three clicks deep loses enquiries that a plainer one would have captured, which is why we agree the structure and the calls to action first and treat the visual design as the layer that carries them.

Every site is built to work properly on a phone, because that is how most Kenyan visitors will arrive, and to load quickly on a mobile connection rather than only on office fibre. Search visibility is built in from the start - clean page structure, real page titles and descriptions, and images sized so they do not slow the page down - rather than added afterwards as a separate exercise.

What is included

  • Business websites, online stores and custom web applications
  • Mobile-first layouts that work on the connection your visitors actually have
  • Search-friendly structure, titles and descriptions built in from the start
  • Content you can edit yourself, without coming back to us for a wording change
  • Domain registration and business email set up alongside the site

How it works

From first call to handover

  1. Discovery session covering what the site is for and who it is talking to

  2. Structure and page plan agreed before any design work begins

  3. Design and build, with review points where you see progress rather than a reveal

  4. Content loading, testing across phones and browsers, then launch

  5. Handover with training on editing your own content

Pricing

How this is billed

Quoted per project after the discovery session, because a five page company site and an online store with stock and payments are different pieces of work. The quote separates the build from the recurring costs - hosting, domain and any ongoing support - so you can see what is one-off and what repeats annually.

After installation

Support and servicing

Sites are handed over with training so you can edit your own copy and images. Hosting, domain renewal and security updates can be handled by us on an ongoing basis or passed to your own team, and the quote says which. If something breaks, call the support line rather than the person who happened to build it, so a fault is picked up whether or not that engineer is available.

Questions

What people ask before booking

Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes. Sites are built so that text, images, prices and pages can be changed by someone non-technical, and the handover includes training on doing it. Coming back to your developer to correct a typo is a cost nobody should be paying.
Do you handle the domain and business email as well?
We do. Domain registration, business email on your own domain and hosting can all be set up alongside the site, which avoids the common situation where a business cannot move its own website because nobody knows who controls the domain.
How long does a website take?
The build is rarely what sets the timeline - waiting on content usually is. Where text, photographs and product details are ready at the start, a straightforward business site moves quickly; where they are being written as we go, that is the part worth planning around.
