Fiber Internet and ISP Services

Temporary internet for events and live streaming

Short-term connectivity for conferences, exhibitions, weddings, church services, sports fixtures and outside broadcasts - installed for the day or the week, and removed afterwards.

What this is

Short-term connectivity for conferences, exhibitions, weddings, church services, sports fixtures and outside broadcasts - installed for the day or the week, and removed afterwards.

An event connection is a different problem from an office connection, and the difference is upload. Streaming pushes video out continuously, so a package sold on a large download figure with a thin upload will fail exactly when the stream matters. We size the link on sustained upload for the number of streams you are running, and we test it under that load before the day rather than discovering the ceiling live.

The other difference is that an event has no second chance. Delegate WiFi is kept on a separate network from the broadcast link, so three hundred phones cannot starve the stream, and critical events are quoted with a backup path on a different route. An engineer can be on site for the duration where the event warrants it, which for a single-take occasion is usually the cheapest insurance available.

What is included

  • Temporary links installed for a day, a weekend or a season
  • Upload capacity sized for live streaming, not just browsing
  • Delegate and guest WiFi kept separate from the broadcast link
  • Optional redundant second path for events that cannot drop
  • On-site engineer for the duration where required

How it works

From first call to handover

  1. Site visit covering venue, line of sight, power and where the stream originates

  2. Link designed around sustained upload and the number of concurrent users

  3. Installation ahead of the event, with time built in for testing

  4. Load testing before the day, not on it

  5. De-installation after the event

Pricing

How this is billed

Quoted per event on duration, location, capacity and whether a redundant path and on-site engineer are included. Venues that host events regularly are usually better served by a permanent link with an event configuration, and we will say so where that is cheaper for you than repeat temporary installs.

After installation

Support and servicing

Support during an event is live rather than a ticket queue: you have a direct number for the duration, and where an on-site engineer is included they stay through the event. Testing under realistic load happens before the day, because the failures that matter at events are the ones that only appear when the room fills up.

Questions

What people ask before booking

How far in advance do you need to know?
As early as possible, because the site visit determines whether the venue can be reached at all and what has to be installed to reach it. Some venues are straightforward; others need a link built to them, and that is not a same-week job.
Can it handle both the live stream and guest WiFi?
Yes, and they are deliberately kept on separate networks with the stream protected. Running both on one flat network is how a stream degrades the moment the audience arrives and connects.
What happens if the connection drops mid-event?
For events that cannot tolerate a drop we quote a second path on a different route, so a single failure does not take the stream with it. Where that is not included we say plainly what the single point of failure is before you decide.
