Structured Cabling and Network Installation

What the work covers

From a single network point to a whole building, installed to a standard and documented so the next engineer can work on it without tracing cable by hand.

What this is

From a single network point to a whole building, installed to a standard and documented so the next engineer can work on it without tracing cable by hand.

Structured cabling means every cable run follows a documented standard rather than the shortest path to the wall, labelled at both ends and recorded on a plan, so a fault six months from now is found by reading the documentation rather than tracing wire through the ceiling. It is what separates a building you can maintain from one where every change means opening walls to find out what is actually connected to what.

A lot of what we get called out for is rework: cable run exposed across a wall, bundled without labelling, or terminated to a standard that fails as soon as a new device is added. Rebuilding that properly usually costs less than living with it, since every future fault on unstructured cabling takes longer to trace.

What is included

  • Fiber optic cable installation and termination
  • Indoor and outdoor cable routing
  • Structured cabling for offices and corporate buildings
  • Cable concealment and neat trunking for a professional finish
  • Network point installation for desks, meeting rooms and workstations
  • Cable labeling and documentation for easy future maintenance
  • Rework of poorly installed or exposed cabling from previous providers

How it works

From first call to handover

  1. Site survey to plan routes and count network points

  2. Cable installation and termination, concealed where the building allows it

  3. Labeling and documentation handed over with the finished work

  4. Testing of every point before sign off

Pricing

How this is billed

Priced per point and per metre of cable run, confirmed at the site survey. Rework of existing cabling is quoted after an inspection.

After installation

Support and servicing

Every point is tested before sign off, and the documentation handed over at completion is what makes a future fault fast to diagnose, by us or by another engineer. Call the support line for a point that has stopped working or cabling that needs extending.

Questions

What people ask before booking

Can you work around us while the office stays open?
Yes, most cabling work is planned around your operating hours, working in sections or after hours where the building genuinely cannot pause, which the site survey confirms before work starts.
What does the documentation you hand over actually include?
A labelled plan of every cable run and network point, so a point can be traced from the wall socket back to the switch it connects to without opening a wall or a ceiling to find out.
Is it worth fixing cabling that already works, just messily?
Often yes, since unstructured cabling that works today is what makes the next fault slow and expensive to trace. We inspect and quote honestly, including telling you if what you have is fine as it is.

Send us the building, the distances and the problem you are solving. We will come back with a survey date and an honest view of what it takes.
